The Northeast Heights of Albuquerque, New Mexico, recently had a new restaurant that open that specializes in a Southern comfort food of fried chicken and its absolutely amazing.
FireBird Nashville Hot Chicken is on the corner of Eubank and Candelaria and is this sister restaurant of the well established Down N Dirty Seafood Boil.
The restaurant has many decadent options to choose from that isn’t limited to simply fried chicken. The menu includes Southern commodities such as sweet potato fries, fried okra, corn, catfish, pulled pork, and much more.
During my initial visit, I tried the chicken and waffles since sweat and savory sounded very delightful. For the chicken, customers are allowed to choose their spice level for the chicken. The flavors are mild, medium, hot, ‘cluckin hot and really cluckin hot. Pretty punny for the last two flavors.
For my chicken I went with the medium to play it safe, which didn’t have much of a kick but was very flavorful.
Overall, I think I may have found a great little chick spot that could very well a hidden secret gem of Albuquerque.
