On the night same night we went to Cantero Brewery, we went did a little bit of brewery hopping. Our next stop was Rio Bravo Brewery, which is located at 1912 2nd street near downtown Albuquerque. Similar to Cantero, Rio Bravo was quiet on a Monday evening. Personally, I love going to places during a quiet evening. It gives me a chance to really take in the setting of the brewery and also have a short conversation with who ever is working about the establishment.

Luckily, I am already familiar with Rio Bravo Brewery beer because we serve it where I work and I know the owners Randy and Denise Baker. Additionally, I am friends with one of their daughters, Lindsey Baker. Unfortunately, none of the Baker family members were there when I visited, but I still enjoyed myself.

As per usual, I had a flight of beers that had their Marzen, Gose, the Basket Case IPA, Road Kill Red, and the Imperial Stout. Of the flight, I really enjoyed the Basket Case IPA. However, my favorite beer is the Pinon Coffee Porter.

The Rio Bravo Brewery is great for live music and entertainment during the weekend and other events and features a full restaurant menu, which I hear is pretty awesome. I’ll have to go back and try one of their burgers. For more information about Rio Bravo Brewery, check out their website
