I’d be lying to you if I didn’t disclose the fact that I absolutely love pizza. In terms of favorite foods, pizza is easy a top 1-2 interchangeably. So this last week, I had the opportunity to go to one of my favorite pizza places in all of Albuquerque, which is Scarpa’s Brick Oven Pizza. It’s a rare treat because I don’t get eat there as often as I’d like.
Scarpa’s is amazing because of the numerous signature pizzas the offer. In New Mexico, a common favorite food is a green chile cheeseburger. Scarpa’s has honed in on local favorites for food and put ground beef, green chile, and cheese for toppings. It has an amazing piquancy to it.
My personal favorite at Scarpa’s, is the Shrimp Pesto Pizza. Of course the pizza is topped with shrimp and has pesto for the sauce, but the pizza also is topped with roma tomatoes, calamata olives, pine nuts & caramelized onions.
For this visit, I did a simple to go order and had a local beer from La Cumbre Brewery while I waited.
In terms of recommendation, I’d suggest dinning in because the restaurant has an amazing wine and beer selection in a very family friendly atmosphere.
